Thing 3 is safely posted, compliments of another relatively painless trip to JCPenney's Portrait Studio.
Thing 3 is now 4 years old. She enjoys hair pretties, twirly dresses, and sparkly blue lipstick. She loves to sing and dance, and looks forward to resuming ballet class after the commencement of her studio's over-the-top recital (in which she is not participating because her mother thinks productions of this magnitude are ridiculous for 4 year olds who can still barely walk without tripping over their own feet and falling down.)

isn't she sad to be missing the recital? B is also four and is having her recital (K is in it as well) and it is so cute to watch! most of the girls actually do a pretty good job of following the teacher-- it's the TWO year old class that i think is crazy to start that early! those little girls either just stand there, sit down on the stage, or twirl around in their own little worlds! (that's why i don't start my girls in dance that early!)
She's not because she doesn't know about it:) I'm sly that way. The studio she's at is a REAL ballet studio and the spring production is off-broadway quality. Unfortunately (for the parents) that means lots of moola required. Costumes, extra practice fees, transport fees, tickets, and then volunteer hours meant we were out. Just way too much else going on and 3 other Things to deal with. If she's still dancing in a few years I'll let her start dabbling in the recital racket.
whoa. that makes sense then. the price of the costume for our recital is included in the fee for dance lessons. there's no extra practices or stuff like that, so it's pretty easy to be on board with! that's nice that the teachers don't talk up the recital in class so that she doesn't know what she's missing!
Wow, I can't believe how much she has grown since we left. She was just a little toddler. She is a cutie!
