At 9am I took the Things to Hukilau beach to witness the launch of the Iosepa double-hull voyaging canoe. Speeches, chants, songs, hula - all in true local style.
95 minutes later the boat was still sitting in the sand.
And that was the end of our cultural enrichment. The Things had no interest in watching anymore. Thing 2 cried when we left because he wanted to ride in the boat. And my back was killing me. After the previous day's hike I really didn't need Sketch in the Baby Bjorn for a minute longer.
All are alive, impatient, and ready for real fun - not the cultural kind.
